Making Progress with Labor-Management Cooperation
Under its Code of Conduct, the Cosmo Energy Group maintains healthy labor-management relations by respecting basic labor rights such as the right to organize and collective bargaining. We are working to build healthy and transparent employee-management relations.
As of March 31, 2024, the Group employs 3,057 labor union members. Health and safety issues that are important to both labor and management, such as working hours, time off, childcare and nursing care, are agreed upon in a collective agreement, and any issues are resolved in collaboration between union and management representatives. Whenever a change could affect an employee’s status, employment, or other working conditions, the collective agreement clearly states that prior consultation is required between labor and management. At each Group site, regular meetings are held and various committees operate as necessary with the involvement of management and labor union representatives. Labor and management also hold meetings of the study group on appropriate management of working hours. The aim is to ascertain employee working hours, raise awareness of overwork among employees, and study and implement measures to encourage employees to utilize their annual paid leave. The Group is working to prevent employee health issues while optimizing working hours and efficiency.
